A Guild is defined as an "association of craftspeople, often having considerable power," and an "association of people for mutual aid or the pursuit of a common goal."
This is what we have created with the Story Grid Guild.
When you join the Story Grid Guild, you become a part of a community of writers dedicated to supporting each other in leveling up their craft.
"What I have loved the most about being part of the Guild is not only the books, conference calls, and other resources but the community in the forums. Everyone is so helpful, sharing their experience and welcoming all opinions, both by advanced learners and from newbies like me. This is the home I needed to become the best writer I can be."
— V. L. Perillo
"In three months I've grown more as a writer than the last two years combined. I expected to learn a lot, but I never expected to be so inspired!
The guild has well surpassed my expectations, and I expected a lot.
I can't estimate the years of writing the guild has saved me due to the access to incredible editors and this tribe of equally driven storytellers."
— Don Elliott, author of something soon.
"What I enjoy most about the Story Grid Guild is the mix of engaged story-passionate personalities and all the variety that comes to the table because of the mix. I 'm happy to study my craft on my own, but when Shawn brings psychology, philosophy and neural science and Tim brings practicality and Anne, Larry, Valerie, Leslie and others bring their insights... Wow. They make me WANT to study alongside them. Then, because of the variety of approaches---written, audio only, audio-visual, and teleportation (not really, but someday...) it's like being part of the best in-person writer's group, only I don't ever have to miss a session.
What I'm getting is concentrated expertise I could not have stumbled across on my own, and did not stumble across in graduate school, delivered at my convenience. I also get the benefit of like-minded people discussing what they are getting on the forum, plus what they are being inspired to delve into on their own. I am inspired and humbled by my fellow guilders.
Why join? For me there were two powerful incentives. First, the vision. The vision that Shawn and Tim are spearheading answers every objection I've had to traditional craft building and publishing methods. Their vision is spot on and their resumes give me confidence that they will bring the vision to life. Second, helping them to breathe life into that vision is making me a better story teller."
— Donah Grassman, author
"Story Grid has helped me establish clear goals in my writing and editing that has made the process so much more enjoyable and productive in ways no other membership ever has. I highly recommend Story Grid."
— Estee Cortez, aspiring author
